Students want to create! Education comes from a variety of methods. Utilizing the 3D printers allows students to learn engineering skills, design skills, and operate current technology. This allows them to see their project through beginning to end.
Students will be involved in every step of the engineering process via the 3d printers. Students will be presented with a problem that they will need to create a solution for. They will need to plan out what they think will solve the problem. They will then need to use that plan to design in Tinkercad. Tinkercad gives the students the tools to design and then printer via the 3d printer. Once their design is printed, students can put it to the test and see if they need to make any adjustments. This process puts the student's learning in their hands and help them develop skills that they can directly apply to STEM related careers.
