I have around 500 students that would like to participate in the Sequoyah book award program. We live in a small, rural town and would love access to the books on the new list this year. My school consists of only 4th, 5th and 6th grades. All the students will have access to these books.
We are passionate readers! With these books, my students will be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more. By the time students have reached 6th grade they had read the majority of the books in the library. So these books would open new adventures for them.
They will also be doing a video review on these books to introduce and encourage others to read them.
