Flexible seating allows my students to choose a spot in the room where they feel they can learn best. Wobble chairs, flex space balance balls, and flex space comfy floor seats would be a great addition to my classroom.
Flexible seating has a major impact on student achievement. My students would be able to use these flexible seating options during independent practice. During this time, students will have choice in where they want to work. This allows students to take ownership in their learning and allows them to practice making good choices.
Flexible seating has shown positive results in the classroom. I have some flexible seating options in my classroom already; for instance, stools, clipboards, pillows, and a rug. Allowing the students to choose a comfortable place for them to learn is essential. I have noticed students are more engaged in their work and they are less disruptive in the classroom. The products I have chosen will allow the students to have additional seating options and allow them to make good decisions.
