As a first year teacher, it is important for me to feel comfortable incorporating technology into my classroom in order to prepare my students for the future. I spent several hours after school preparing my computer cart for my students to be able to use. After struggling to label computers and put them in the correct spot, I turned my focus on organizing the chargers. At the end I had 7 extra chargers in the back of my cart all entwined with the 19 I needed for my students. It was a huge mess and could have easily been avoided with some extra TLC.
Having the Belkin and store with portable trays will allow my students to have easy access to their computers and chargers. My students will be able to get and put their computers back without my assistance. It will save time being able to call the students by tables to get their computers instead of me standing by the cart and making sure they grab the right computer and plug them back to the right charger.
I keep my classroom organized and clean. Currently the computer cart I have now is nowhere near being organized. Using Belkin will allow me to check my computers off my list and focus my attention on other important aspects of the classroom such as getting my students on computers and using the multiple educational sites I have access to.
At this time, my school has been effected by hurricane Florence. Currently we have been out of school for 4 weeks. My hope is that this project will allow my students to enjoy their computer time and feel comfortable easing into testing on the computers in 3rd grade.
