All of the students in my classroom have fine motor difficulties and can not use a standard computer or Chrome Book. By using the iPads, my students will be able to access applications which will help facilitate learning and communication. All of my students are non-verbal and an iPad allows them to select answers from a choice of two. There are countless learning applications as well as teacher created learning materials which will facilitate learning for my students.
Most of my students are in wheelchairs and using an iPad will allow myself as well as their parents to position the iPad where they are able to see it (many also have vision issues), and use it. Since my students are non-verbal, there are also applications specifically for the iPad which will be their voice. Having an iPad for my students allows them to have access to materials just like their peers. Switches can be hooked up to iPads for my students who are unable to touch the screen but can hit a switch.
