These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. These books are selected to support literacy development with my 4th grade students through engaging, imaginitive, and award winning titles. Read alouds can draw students of any age into a community that is knowledgeable and curious about topics and texts. These texts will be read aloud by the teacher to teach essential reading concepts, grammer instruction, and encourage a love of reading all in order to support literacy development.
All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind.
With these new books reading, grammer, and writing are based on mentor texts and students see in real text the connection of these skills. Outlining mentor sentences within the mentor texts are the perfect way to teach grammar and author's craft through examples of excellent sentences from your favorite read-aloud books! The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
