The book club is open to all students, yet some students are not able to afford to buy the 5 books a year required to join our club. This evens the playing field for all, when the first two books are purchased for them, they have access to their own book to use, and they become "hooked" on the process and enjoyment of being a part of this club. Students will read at least 5 of the 10 nominated books for 2018-19, and will vote on their favorites. We're involving the children's librarian from the public library, as well as our district's elementary media specialist in the group discussions.
