The materials I am requesting will help create a more creative and warm environment for my students to work in. I want the students to feel like the art room is their creative place to be inspired. Right now, my students sit in stiff desk chairs that have been in this classroom for too many years to count.
A lot of my students like to get comfortable when they are working whether that means standing, sitting a different way, or moving to another part of the room. These new flexible seating and working options would give my students opportunity to work in different areas of the classroom and be comfortable as well.
The area rug would be placed in the front of the classroom and used for small group instruction, class discussion, or free space for students to work. The rectangular floor table would provide a hard surface to work on while sitting on the rug or other flexible seating option and a great place for students to work on early finisher activities.
I know that with these resources my students would be even more excited and inspired to learn in a way that is more conducive and comfortable for them.
