Sensory play is important for preschool students. Many of my students only opportunity to play with play dough, sand, water, etc. is at school. At a recent workshop, I was reminded of the importance of sensory play. It builds nerve connections in the brain's pathways. It supports language development, cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction. And it is fun! Children work on all these skills while they play and have fun! These new toys and materials will be used by my 3 preschool classes. We will use them this year and for years to come.
