I use the Carbo Reading Styles Program in my classroom. Basically over 20 years of research has proven that when students’ reading styles are met, there is a significant increase in student achievement, motivation, and attendance. The requested materials will continue to foster the love of reading for my students, and for many, will help close academic gaps. With an additional CD player, headphones, and a comfortable place to read and write, more of my students can enjoy recorded books that are geared towards building fluency and comprehension in a non-threatening way. Not only can my students listen to quality literature, they can also use the CARBO Power Paks. Again, students listen to recorded stories, but skills, writing, and comprehension are addressed.
