Many students in Hayward are interested in playing band, and I'm here to teach them. Students hear music everywhere, see their friends playing it, and then they want to play too!
The benefits of music education extend far beyond our classroom walls! The more students we have taking pride in what they do, the better off our community will be. By beginning their music learning early, students will form a basis for a lifetime of learning and camaraderie!
Fifty or more students participate in our Instrumental Music program each year. But since we don't have as many instruments as we do students, some of them have to go out and get their own, have to pick a different instrument than their choice, or are placed on a waiting list. I would like to eliminate that as much as possible. Having more instruments available will give more students the opportunity to make music. This will make our students and myself very happy!
