Every child has an amazing story to tell. They just don't always have the tools to create it. As second graders, these students are learning and growing at a quick pace. They already know how to read words and make sentences so now we work on putting those things together to create stories. Since we still enjoy visual images, these supplies can help us become authors of our own books that our whole class can enjoy!
My goal is to create a classroom where writing is something the children yearn to do. The writing paper I have selected allows for the students to write and show illustrations.By using different writing utensils, the children can use their creativity to express themselves.
After writing a rough draft, the children can use the colored pencils to make corrections. This will help them visually as they do rewrites. They won't have to search and miss corrections. Markers are a fun way to add to our pictures in our books. Scissors and glue can help us to fix our mistakes without having to rewrite an entire page. And a nice caddy can keep all the table materials in one place.
