When students come into my office I will have a very welcoming corner with pillows, fidget objects, and indirect lighting to allow them a safe and comforting place to take a "break."
The pillows will provide comfort and security to them. The fidget objects will allow their hands something to focus on and help distract them from any outside triggers that may cause them to become upset more. The indirect lighting from the floor lamp will give them another form of calm because office lighting can be too bright! The calming bottles can be used to refocus them on something other than what upset them in the beginning.
