My school is fortunate enough to be 1 to 1 with ipad devices and with that comes a lot of very interesting content! In times of virtual learning as a result of the Covid 19 pandemic this technology helped me teach them while at home also!
With a class of 25 students, things can get a little loud! So many of my students are behind in their reading ability as a result of instructional loss during the pandemic. With this technology I am able to scaffold student learning by recording my voice on phonemic awareness lessons, book read alouds and all subjects directions.
Even though earbuds are a suggested supply on their annual list, only a handful of my students come to school with these items. Reading rotations full of recordings can get noisy and be distracting. If I was able to supply my entire class with headphones we could reduce the noise of my classroom increasing student concentration and absorbtion of material allowing me to bridge the learning gap!
