I would like to make watercolor pictures using the A2 tracing light boxes to trace the selected pictures onto the thick watercolor paper. Two light boxes will allow more than one student at a time to work. My fourth grade students will be able to paint beautiful art pieces that each one can be proud of. The light boxes will enable the students to select more difficult designs, without the stress of having to draw an image first. The water color paper, watercolor paint, and brushes will give the students the necessary materials to create a vibrant picture.
After the recent firestorms that plagued our community, the students will be able to express themselves in an artistic way to reduce emotional stress and begin the healing process. They will be able to focus on something creative and positive, rather than issues of devastation and loss.
