Firsties are learning the foundational skills to be strong reader. Part of that process is engaging with high quality texts. Our school just adopted a new literacy curriculum with wonderful big books. However we currently do not have a way to store or display them. This project will not only meet my storage needs, but it will allow my firsties to place their big book on the stand and interact with the texts during independent reading/center time. Interacting with the texts fosters engagement and deeper understanding setting the foundation for becoming a strong reader.
