I am hoping to give students the opportunity to make a choice for their own seating style by using floor cushions. By giving them the ownership of how they will sit and do their work. It will help them gain confidence in their own learning ability by allowing them to make their own choice. Students will be given options to sit on a chair or on the floor, these cushions will be perfect for their sitting preference style. Students will also be able to move the cushions around as they go throughout the day as they do their work. An example of how this would play out in my room would be during journal writing time. I have noticed students react differently when they feel they make a choice for themselves, rather than be told what to do.
