In the past when I would pass out a Storyworks magazine to my fourth grade students, the excitement in the classroom could not be described in words. They would flip through all the numerous genres, and share which stories they wanted to read first. These magazines sparked curiosity and inspired my non-readers to WANT to read! This magazine provides many tools for differentiation, such as leveled questions and activities. It builds stronger vocabulary and background knowledge through behind the scene videos, critical thinking questions, and vocabulary. . Creating life-long readers is our goal, and Storyworks could be an essential resource that could help us achieve this.
