I have been teaching art in Bronx, NY for the past 22 years. My current school consists of very high need families. Most of my students or their families are immigrants from the West Indies, the Caribbean, South America, India, and Yemen. They come to this country with high expectations for a good education. Most of my students are smart, determined, respectful, and have a love of learning. I also take pride in the fact that art is one of their favorite subjects, and I can bring it to grades 6-8 once a week. I have so much to teach them, and they are always ready to learn, donations from people like you help to enrich their programs, and foster their creativity. Even the students who don't speak English yet, communicate through their art. Art is the universal language, and with your help I can have so many more resources to teach it with.
