The students in my classroom need more access to Spanish texts. My class is comprised of mainly native English speakers and for a Dual Immersion classroom, I am the only source of Spanish they have. I conduct read alouds daily however I want my students to have access to more Spanish literature. I want to encourage my students to use the iPads and headphones to listen to Spanish texts online and hear other voices speak Spanish other than my own. It also allows those students who do not have technology at home to have access to additional resources in class. As of now, I am starting with two iPads in hopes of having a set of 5 for a small group.
Stories come in all languages. I want to show my students a variety of books in Spanish online. I want to encourage my English only students that there are plenty of books in Spanish that they can listen to and enjoy. I want them to be proud of their bilingualism and listening to stories can help encourage them.
