Since our farming community has many low socioeconomic families, these resources will make a significant difference meeting their needs from the start of their 1st grade year.
Walking into our classroom and seeing the bright, white dry erase boards with individual erasers creates an excitement for learning. Write and wipe answer boards and markers are a fun way to quickly check for understanding and allow students to show their answer in a safe way.
Connect and store book bins will help students store books to read on their independent reading level and can travel with them around our room and school. Washable markers and crayons will be used in whole class activities, independent work, literacy stations and math stations. Creating an environment built upon sharing and self expression transfers from our school community to our local community. These materials help to meet the child's physical and emotional needs by ensuring they have the same opportunity to be successful as other students with a higher socio-economic status. A donor supporting my classroom provides endless opportunities for my students and their families.
