Pottery for Peace will help my learners work on social-emotional behavior and patience. Pretty and shiny is what everyone wants to see, but not all have the patience to put in the work behind the scenes. The learner will begin to learn patience and evolve with each stage of firing. Clay evolves from leather hard to green ware to bisque ware, and finally glaze ware.
Everyone will first write out and plan their ideas in a sketch drawing before touching wet clay. Students will try to get as close as possible to their drawings to create their own pottery.
