In second grade, students have learned to adapt to the rigor and routine of the school day. However, these little guys are seven and eight, and it can be very hard for them to sit in the traditional desk (table) and chair for long periods of time.
I am looking for a way to allow them some more movement in their day--to hopefully foster their energy and creativity!
I plan to do this by getting some furniture that would provide flexible seating in my classroom. These different seating options would allow us to move around and utilize desks in a different way than we have been able to before. For those who have the wiggles and are able to concentrate much better when standing, there will be a way for them to be at a standing desk.
