I am a first-year teacher moving into an empty classroom! Our school is big on flexible seating and making a safe place for our students to learn. Many of our students come from inconsistency and rough homes, where a classroom can serve as their safe space. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. I am looking to give my students a choice to work in a variety of locations in my room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables with clipboards, or sitting or laying on the floor with a clipboard. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I want space for my students to feel comfortable and for them to have a space that is safe and organized. I believe comfort and organization creates a positive and engaging classroom!
How these products will impact my students! The carpets and chairs will provide space for my students to sit and learn, as well as be comfortable in the classroom library I am creating.
The table caddies will help my students store their school supplies to maintain a neat and organized workspace!
With the whiteboard paper, I am creating dry erase boards out of clipboards so my students can have interactive learning during group instruction time.
Pocket charts are for engaging learning. My students will be able to learn and practice calendar skills along with a literacy activity to help them learn their letter sounds in Spanish!
Stools will provide the extra chairs I need to provide seating for my students!
