The Rainbow Readers is a program that monitor students’ essential pre-reading skills. This program will allow teachers, students, and parents to see the progress being made.
Donations to this project will help create many fun, exciting activities and experiences for my readers and writers. As they complete the levels in the Rainbow Readers literacy program they will feel empowered and encouraged to keep trying their best..
The Rainbow Reader Program has seven levels which include:
1. Red Reader: Writes first name correctly with capital and lower-case letters.
2. Orange Reader: Names all capital letters.
3. Yellow Reader: Names all lower-case letters.
4. Green Reader: Produces all letter sounds.
5. Blue Reader: Writes first and last name correctly with capital and lower-case letters.
6. Indigo Reader: Reads 50 sight words.
7. Violet Reader: Reads 100 sight words.
The color printer will help me print many activities for centers and they will be used to help my students learn their letters, sounds, writing their names, and learning their sight words. It is important for me to help my students graduate from each level of the Rainbow Readers. My students need to see pictures in color instead of black and white because it will not only help improve and increase their attention and focus, but it will ultimately help increase their academic achievement.
I will use the easel board to teach whole group lessons and re-teach lessons to students who need extra support and guidance.
