Students will benefit from this educational journal because they will be challenged daily with quick response questions and higher order thinking questions that encourage students to incorporate writing into their daily morning routine. Students often come at different academic levels and this allows students to work at a pace that meets their comfort level while simultaneously providing me the time to work with students one a one on one bases to help them build understanding on challenging questions. Students can build self awareness by monitoring their own growth while also using these journals as a resource to help them when they are faced with a similar mathematics question in class. Students can pull out their journal and look at how they worked out the steps in the journals to help them during class.
