My students will have access to articles and stories from Scholastic Magazines and Storyworks Jr. They will learn about things that aren't regular topics in our class. We can debate, persuade, discuss, and analyze texts from these magazines. They are short, on level, and ready for my students to explore.
We will use these articles and stories to build background knowledge and vocabulary that we can use to connect to other texts, connect to each other, and connect to the world around us. We want to learn and we strive to make a difference. It starts with knowledge! Whether it is independent reading choice or a part of a lesson, we will dive into the information that these texts have to offer!
