Surfing into second grade is what my class is all about! I want the students in my class to be as engaged as possible. The half moon table will allow me to get more one on one time with individual students and small groups. This table will also allow for some flex sitting/ alternative sitting such as a yoga ball seat and seat crates instead of sitting at their desk all day.
I think it is important to have a classroom full of color so students will be more excited to explore and get engaed. For this reason I would love for my students to be able to experience an educational rug. Where they can find a place to sit and dive into a book. Or while they are waiting in line they can check out some letters or numbers, the learning never has to stop. Organization will be important in a class of all boys, so organizational bins would be great so all manipulatives and basic needs such as pencils and glue have a neat place.
Since my school is a Title I, we do not have has many materials for the students so I personally would love the opportunity to provide my students with as much as possible such as the glue sticks, white boards, and a pencil sharpener. I plan to use the whiteboards for tutoring and small group work. These basic needs just make everyday learning more enjoyable.
