This project will provide each of my students with a math binder and dividers. These binders will ensure daily structure and routine in our mathematics class.
In addition to teaching math, I also teach organization. Keeping a binder and understanding how to apply best practices in organizing its contents will set students up for success in all academic subjects now and in the future.
On the first day of school last year, I required each of my students to bring a math only binder. The majority of my students and their families could not afford to meet this requirement. To circumvent this obstacle, I purchased each of my students binders with my own money to start the second semester and experienced significant improvement, assessment scores and homework completion. Unfortunately, those binders were made of cheap materials, as most of them are now unusable for a second year. I'm hoping my students will use these binders for years and years to come. Thank you so much for your support!
