I tell my students that I am jealous of them! Many of my students are bilingual, and I wish I had that skill. However, my student live in a low-income area in Oklahoma City, some of them have never left a five mile radius of their home. This means many of them are missing critical life experiences that help build background knowledge necessary to build academic vocabulary across the curriculum. This subscription to Flocabulary will bring new vocabulary and concepts to my classroom, using music videos, to help them build their vocabulary skills. Flocabulary songs get stuck in your head and help students with math, social studies, science, and reading concepts. The songs are hard to forget and add an element of fun to everyday learning.
