The supplies in my project will benefit my Study Skills class, English 8 class, and Special Education English classes for middle schools.
My special education students' needs will be better served with your support. My students struggle with reading and writing, but we are grateful to have the technology resources to support them. We would benefit from having the headphones with a microphone so that they are able to use the text-to-speech software. The overlays would help my students with dyslexia to support their reading.
I would love to have my students read another novel this year, and I think Ghost would be something that they would enjoy. In my class, I like to support my low readers by having the audio book playing while we read a novel.
In my regular education English class, and my Special Education English class we have been using interactive notebooks this year. Interactive notebooks accommodate multiple learning styles at one time. They also help students to take ownership of their learning through color and creativity. The colored pencils would help my students with their interactive notebooks. I have already seen a huge impact that the color coordinated notes has brought to their reading and writing.
My Study Skills class is for students who need the extra support with the organization, and assignment completion. The headphones, white boards, and overlays will help me to support their other classes. They are beneficial for my students to have the extra support to access their general education classes.
