Students will be provided with pens, paper and notebooks and not feel ashamed because they do not have them. My students live in a poverty stricken district and need help getting necessary supplies for the start of the school year. Help my students feel secure and happy when they come to school. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students already have a "home." In other words, I know exactly where everything will go. Students will use these supplies to write essays to learn the content knowledge necessary to be successful in U. S. History and on the state assessment. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. For students from a poor background, not having necessary school supplies can make it hard for them to want to come to school and do their best. Providing them with pens, paper and notebooks will give them less to worry about at school.
