In order to have an effective production, you must have a great wardrobe and make up department. These elements teach our students culture, time and place, characterization, professionalism and etiquette. If there is proper equipment, students know how to use it when they are placed in a professional situations. With your help, students will be able to use the skills of applying make up, creating wardrobes, and cataloging them properly with the appropriate tools. As a new Drama Department in a low income area, we do not charge admission to our shows in order to build our community support. Without funding, equipment is hard to come by. This project is specific to costumes and make up. We are asking for mannequins so that students can plan out costumes, a basic make up kit so that students will be able to have workshops and multiple practices with product all in one case. We need brushes, setting spray and a case to properly store the items. A full length mirror back stage is important to have when space is limited to check your costume before going out on stage. The costumes racks are needed to store and catalog costumes in our storage area. These items will help our students compete with other well established drama programs as well as develop their sense of professionalism. We are building a Drama department from the ground up. It is hard using only school limited resources which are needed to meet academic and other student needs. Our kids in our Drama department with community and staff support have done extremely well producing 3 major productions in the last 2 years! We want to take them to the next level. These items will help do just that. Thanks in advance for your support.
