Nature has so much to offer us! One example is gardening. The composter, compost bags, gardening tool kits, and shovels will allow my students to work together to grow various types of vegetable in our school garden. When students work together to reach a goal, they learn that teamwork is the key to success.
Creating a school garden will also instill a sense of pride in my students. There's also a home/school connection. After the students have used the materials requested to create a garden, they will then be able to take vegetables home to share with their family. The composter and compost bags will help students connect to nature and they will begin to gain an understanding of what they can do to help our planet. By recycling and not throwing away old food in the garbage, and instead, putting it in the composter, students will learn that they too can make a difference in the world. They will be creating a healthier planet and they will feel more connected to nature.
