I chose a classroom carpet to help my students get to our group meeting more efficiently. They will have an assigned spot to sit on for large group discussions and lessons. They will know exactly where to go instead of trying to figure out where to sit. This will cut down on transition time as they come to the group area.
It will allow me to organize large group, small group or partner activities more easily. For example, when asked to work in a group, students could be organized by the color or shape they are sitting on. This will also reinforce shapes and colors for those students that may still be struggling with them.
