We tried to make the best of our current seating arrangements this year in the classroom. But, as the size of our class grew to 36 fifth graders, we no longer fit comfortably in the room. Having 36 desks and chairs in one space made it hard to move around and work in cooperative groups, something we love to do.
Flexible seating will give us the freedom of space and the ability to work together more easily!
Flexible seating will give students the freedom to choose a space to work in that best fits their learning style. Whether this is a portable stadium chair and lap desk so that the students can have more personal space or pull up a stool to work collaboratively with others. Students will have more control over their learning, helping them be more engaged and thus successful in the classroom.
Everything listed for this project already has a home in our classroom. We have worked together to plan out our dream class. Please help us fund our flexible seating paradise!
