These materials will make a huge difference in the feel of the classroom that 25 students will spend all year in. A positive and welcoming environment will allow the students to feel safe and build community within the classroom. Students will increase their literacy and math skill as they learn with pocket charts for word sorting, reading comprehension cubes for partner work, multiple forms of dice for math center games, various writing utensils for paper and whiteboards. Materials that will be used on a daily basis by all students. These materials will help students improve their reading skills, writing skills and math skills. More specifically, their comprehension of various types of text, informational, narrative, etc. and multiplication, division, fractions and geometry mathematical strategies. These math activities also improve student's social skills by creating opportunities for them to cooperatively work together while playing an interactive game. Students will be able to read books and use interactive reading apps on the Amazon Fire tablets. The tablets will allow students to access extended reading curriculum opportunities as well as play math games online. The printer will allow me to provide color prints of math games to the students instead of just seeing black and white photo copies. Also, it will provide immediate printing to with of student work. The dice, decks of cards and marker pieces help facilitate math games for students in a variety of areas including, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The Prime board game is important to assist in teaching fractions to students. These are great centers that students can do on a daily basis independently or with a partner. These materials will improve student's success and engagement in guided reading and math centers. It will provide additional support to struggling students and boost their confidence in a safe learning environment.
