All of us remember middle school to an extent. Some are tall, short, thin, heavy, and a variety of other body types. They are all expected to learn in the same environment with the same type of desks. UNTIL NOW!! Studies have shown that students learn much better in an environment where they can find the best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive.
Providing my students with mild/moderate disabilities the option of flexible seating will provide them with skills of choice and ownership in their learning that will help them throughout middle school and into adulthood.
In turn, they will be able to more freely share ideas with the class and to learn more effectively in an environment that is
I will use this with my students that have mild/moderate disabilities. It will help them to find places in my classroom that work best for them to learn to the best of their ability. It will give me the chance to teach my students in a manner that is comfortable and as exciting as possible! We celebrate all of the academic and life wins that we can and I want to continue to make my classroom a place where students feel comfortable and excited to learn.
