Many of my students who reside in East Oakland do not have access to adequate home space, equipment, or even public spaces to maintain quality personal fitness levels.
With these resistance bands students will be able to apply and advance their knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, and personal fitness whether at home or at school during these unprecedented Covid times. Students have already learned about the muscles in their bodies and how different exercises have an effect on various muscles.
Once the project is funded, each student will get 2 personal resistance bands and they will be instructed how to safely add resistance to their personal fitness plans under my instruction and guidance. This will help keep students in shape while allowing them work individually and safely now, prepare them for high school PE and athletics, and learn good lifelong habits pertaining to exercise, personal fitness, and goal setting.
About my class
