Teachers often utilizes centers to help students teach themselves, which allows the teacher to pull small groups at time. By having students teach themselves, they become more invested in their learning experience. Also, when students are engaged in meaningful center activities, the teacher is allowed to work with students on their specific needs. Centers have shown to help students not only become invested in their learning, but it teaches them to learn how to work with others, it helps them understand what they do and don't know, and finally it allows them a break from desk and chairs. Moreover, the teacher is able to help students with a smaller group of students, allowing all students to learn any material that may need to be reinforced, retaught, and/or new material they new to learn to help them grow.
