This school year, I will be going into the teacher's classroom instead of the students coming to the music classroom. This change is due to the cleaning protocol between groups of students. My students use of musical equipment will be limited to what I can haul on a cart. The instruments cannot be shared from class to class.
By providing 4th/5th graders with a set of drumsticks, I can engage students in drumming lessons on their chairs and desks. They can create and practice rhythm patterns, play in an ensemble, and enjoy active music-making right in their own classrooms with minimal equipment!
