During our animal unit students learn about classification of animals. This includes mammals, birds, amphibians, fish, and reptiles. Students also learn about habitats and what animals need to survive in their environment. The leopard gecko, tank and heater would make a great addition to our science lab to help with covering these standards in a real life exhibit. Students would be able to see a real reptile and learn about its habitat environment. We have so much fun in my enrichment science class learning about all scientific topics in a hands on, exploration environment. Our animal unit across grade levels is always a FAVORITE! We have a 4 year old Russian Tortoise named Ms. Dr. Pickles Biglesworth and a little male beta fish named Flash. Students LOVE coming into the science lab and check on 鈥渢heir鈥 animals. So many students don鈥檛 have a home life where animals are allowed and having them in their classroom just adds to their school experiences and excitement.
