By using flexible seating, this allows the students to have a choice of where they would like to learn for that day. They get to make the choice and be in charge of their own learning rather than someone telling them where to sit. Currently, students are sitting at large tables or somewhere on the floor around the room. I would like for them to have a choice at either a high or low table with a variety of seat options, such stools, floor cushions, or wobble cushions. I would also like to give students the option to not sit at a table, but instead, sit on bean bag chairs and backrests on the floor with clipboards and offer them a different type of seat.
Making sure the students are comfortable and engaged in their work while getting to choose where they sit can be very empowering. Teaching them that the choice they make can have a great effect on their attitude and learning for the day is important for any child to see.
The products I have selected will help my students be more engaged in the classroom and take charge of their own learning. The flexible seating will also allow more movement for my students, especially those who need to move around throughout the day. Each student can find success within their choice of seat and will set a positive tone for the day!
