My students use dry erase whiteboards, markers, and dry erasers daily during group activities. During this time students practice sounding out and writing words with dry erase markers on the whiteboards. The magnetic sentence strips will be used during carpet time to practice writing sentences and reading. As an instructor, the use of these tools allows me to immediately spot and address areas in which the students are struggling. These materials will be used during language arts, math, writing, and centers. The reusable dry erase pockets will be used daily during centers. The students can write on the pockets with dry erase markers and not damage the sheet within it, thus eliminating the need for copies. Because of the many ways that the materials are used, they are vital to classroom learning. The students really enjoy the hands-on activities and immediate feedback from the instructor. These materials will also be used during small group instruction. This time allows the students to build understanding and confidence in a calmer setting.
