I am requesting cushions, bouncy bands, a beanbag, and lap desks for my four classes that total a group of 84 kids.
Entering 6th grade coming from a recess encouraged elementary can be rather difficult for many of my ADHD students or even my nonhyper students.
Sometimes the plastic chairs just do not cut it for even me. I'm a floor-sitter, myself, definitely a leg crosser.
With 6th grade being such a transition year, I would love to provide options for my students to help them feel secure and comfortable to hopefully begin a love for reading. We all know that we learn better when we love the environment where we work the most. I just want to give my students the same opportunity.
