Through the use of STEAM bins students will learn to think divergently, inventively, and imaginatively using a variety of materials. Creating with Legos, Play Dough, Unifix Cubes, Magformers, blocks and planks, as well as with a variety of common household items, such as pipe cleaners, toothpicks and foam craft balls, students will critically think to solve problems with specified constraints.
Students require these foundational opportunities to create and explore multiple perspectives in visual arts and engineering concepts while applying structures to real world designs.
Through this project my students will gain critical-thinking skills as well as the confidence to ask, "What if...?" and then explore to find out.
