Students today are offered a variety of choices to fit their variety of learning styles. However, the classroom environment does not always reflect choice. To make the classroom a place that fits the learning needs of students, I want to make choices in seating and grouping available to them. Learning can be enjoyable when one is offered choices.
We have choices of the type of seating in most restaurants, so to make the classroom more inviting, I want to offer students variety in seating choices, as well.
We read, collaborate, and write everyday, and traditional classroom furniture arrangements are not the most conducive for shifting the scene.
