Students are constantly reading throughout the day, why wouldn't they want to see themselves in the characters that they are reading about! I am looking to expand my classroom library to reflect the many cultures of students in my class and my school. Students are so impressionable, especially when it comes to what they are reading and talking about with their friends. I want to make sure all of my students can relate to the characters that they are reading about. As a teacher, my main goal is to ensure that all students feel comfortable and welcome in our classroom. Having books that they can relate to, is just one of the steps to help build a community within our classroom where everyone is celebrated!

About my class
