My students need individual copies of the book Little House in the Big Woods to help us prepare for our living history day when the students re-create what life would be like during pioneer time. Students learn what life was really like while reading Laura Ingalls Wilder books which gives them a first-hand account of life from a child's point of view. They learn about how children behaved, what they wore, what they ate and how school was like in a one-room school house rather than what they experience today. Students get so invested in this time period they read all of the books they can by this author.
