By the end of the last school year we were able to qualify a number of students for special education services. This is great news for the students and the extra assistance will help them be successful in the general education classroom. Unfortunately, I don't have enough computers in my classroom to support the number of students I currently have.
The Chromebooks will be immensely helpful when I have large groups of students in my classroom. In my classroom students use the computers to access the math and reading interventions that are partly computer based, as well as research projects and listen to audio books. They use the computers to find answers to questions they have when reading a book or article. My students have independently researched how glass is made, what a recycling center does, where is the Amazon River located and so much more.
My students are inquisitive and love to know the answer to questions, as well as see pictures of things we've been reading about. Please, help them continue to learn about the world around them.
